Five Lies You Have Been Fed This Week About the Iran Conflict
And believe me, the list is FAR longer...

Your democratically elected leaders and undemocratically selected media sources fed you some whoppers this week regarding what is happening in the Middle East and what it means for the United States and Americans. So I, your personally selected source of non-B.S., shall attempt to clear the smoke from the B-2s and help you make sense of these lies you have been fed deliberately by those who do not have your best interests at heart.
Lie 1: President Trump is doing Bibi Netanyahu’s bidding and playing his puppet by acting in Israel’s best interests instead of America’s best interests.
First of all, anyone who has been ranting to you about President Trump for the past six months and beyond being an authoritarian megalomanic should seriously question their own logical skills in now accepting the claim that he is someone else’s puppet. This man is many, many things - many of which I despise - but he is no one’s puppet and no one’s fool.
He has just played the Iranian mullahs like a fiddle. He gave them 60 days to negotiate while knowing full well Israel was planning to strike. He obfuscates, plays games, leaves his opponents in the dark. He is a master of misdirection. As he himself said only a few days ago before bluffing that he would take two weeks to decide whether to bomb Fordow, “no one knows what I’m going to do.”
Even my own spouse and mother were fooled into thinking he was backing off and chickening out of making the correct historical move to cripple Iran’s nuclear ambitions. I never doubted the fact that he conducts international negotiations as he would a real estate deal.
This has thrown the entire international scene off guard. They follow norms of international diplomacy taught at Princeton, Tufts, Oxford, Brown; he follows his own drum beat. Part of what makes him both scary and highly effective is that he is unpredictable to the normal policy wonks who expect leaders to follow a certain formula. He is not playing by the same rules.
The idea that anyone owns him is laughable, especially coming from the very same people who regularly comment that he is loyal to no one and will turn on claimed allies on a dime. If someone has been saying this to you for years and now claims he is in Bibi’s pocket, remember how incongruous those two concepts are.
Lie 2: President Trump just dragged America into Israel’s war and made us less safe.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has been a central part of the Axis of Evil the U.S. must manage since its birth. How many videos of its leaders chanting “Death to America” do you need to hear to believe it? Since the date of its inception, the Iranian Revolution targeted American citizens. Let me remind you pictorially of the Iranian Hostage Crisis:
These are Iranian students storming the U.S. Embassy and taking its personnel hostage during the Iranian Revolution in 1979. The Iranian regime has ever been our foe. It held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days until another strong president – Ronald Reagan – brought the crisis to an end on the day of his inauguration. Iran’s proxy, Hizballah, murdered 241 U.S. servicemen in the 1980 bombing of the marine barracks in Lebanon.
These images and historical events closely mirror our current times. Seven Americans were taken hostage and over 40 Americans murdered on October 7. Iran has referred to the U.S. as “The Great Satan” and Israel as “The Little Satan” for decades. Iran did not construct a fleet on Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles for Israel’s benefit. They designed those missiles expressly, if not lovingly, with us in mind.
Iran is not just Israel’s enemy. If you believe that whopper, I suggest a strong regimen of reading the history of the modern Middle East. Iran is the enemy of the Syrian people whose country they destroyed in propping up and supporting the oppressive Assad regime, their proxy in Syria. Iran is the enemy of the Lebanese people whose country they destroyed in creating, funding, and supplying Hizballah, their proxy in Lebanon. Iran is the enemy of the Yemenite people whose country they destroyed by arming and supporting the Houthi rebels, their proxy in Yemen. Iran is the enemy of the Saudi people, whose regime they undermine and threaten with Houthi missile strikes because of ideological differences with its Sunni Wahhabi leadership and a hegemonic power struggle. Iran is the enemy of the United Arab Emirates, a modernizing Gulf State opposed to religious extremism and supportive of economic development, normalization with Israel, and advancement for the region. Iran is the enemy of the Jordanian king whose father had the temerity to make peace with Israel and who is constantly at threat of overthrow by his unstable Palestinian populace.
Iran is the world’s enemy. Iran started a war with the world in 1979 with the advent of its expansionist revolutionary regime. That war has been waged on a low burner ever since. Iran has slowly been turning the heat up on that burner for years hoping that we, like clueless frogs, will not notice the temperature rising until we boil in our own ignorance and arrogance.
Every other country in the Middle East is breathing a sigh of relief and celebrating. The Iranian people themselves are celebrating.
People telling you that you are less safe today because Iran can no longer mount a nuclear warhead on those ICBMs and lob them toward you are shamefacedly lying to you. People like Antonio Guterres, whose credibility is wholly nil at this point and whose continued leadership at the helm of the U.N. as much a farce as the entity itself, are not sources you can trust.
Guterres exhorts us to “avoid a spiral of chaos.” Removal of the Iranian nuclear threat, however, has accomplished just that. He claims “the only path forward is diplomacy.” Diplomacy - the absurd path blazed by the Obama Administration - quite evidently failed. He tells us that “the only hope is peace.” And the only hope for peace is neutralization of the Iranian threat to global security. President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu are gifting to the world that peace. They are doing so at enormous cost and risk to the Israeli people, who are buying peace for the rest of the planet with their own blood.
The important question to ask yourself is why would anyone make such illogical claims. The answer lies in the photo of the Iranian students above, the other half of why and how Iran poses us a threat.
As I was writing this, my son looked over my shoulder and asked me what college protest the photo above depicts. He mistook a photo of the Iranian leftist and extremist students storming the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979 for a Columbia University riot. That is NO MISTAKE, though. What is happening on our campuses closely mirrors those events by design. Extremists funded by Hamas-connected Students for Justice in Palestine (as I have explained in previous posts and as Jonathan Schanzer of the Foundation for Democracies has documented and shared with Congress for years) operate from the same playbook. And let’s all say together who funds Hamas: Iran.
The next time you see a scene like the one above occurring in the U.S., remember this parallel. Is it no accident. It is no coincidence. It is funded and fomented by America’s mortal enemy – the Iranian regime. They are waging a war from within the U.S. through an army of unwitting fools they have indoctrinated with their mad ideology and sleeper cells allowed to penetrate our borders under Biden’s watch. It is a direct lie to claim that cutting off the head of this snake will make the U.S. and the world less safe. Anyone telling you that does not have your best interests, America’s best interests, or the planet’s best interests at heart.
Lie 3: We are reliving 2002 and lies/errors about Saddam Hussein’s nuclear ambitions as a cover for unwarranted aggression
Furthermore, anyone telling you there is no evidence of nefarious nuclear intent in Iran either is not thinking or supports such nefarious intent. A quick glance at a map of Iranian nuclear sites is proof enough. No nation needs this many nuclear power plants in such close proximity. Iran’s leaders openly threaten their enemies with their nuclear ambitions without shame.
When an enemy tells you they want to kill you, Jews have learned you should believe them. It is time for the rest of the world to absorb this lesson and act upon it. No one is fooled about Iran’s nuclear goals. The intelligence is iron clad. International Atomic Energy Agency oversight, decades of negotiations to slow its progress in obtaining a nuclear weapon, and Iran’s own overt statements belie the claim of a lack of legitimate intelligence on the nuclear threat posed by one of the most volatile and violent regimes on earth.
This was not a declaration of war on Iran with questionable evidence of the threat it poses. It was an attack on the proven, chief global terror syndicate to prevent it from putting the cherry on its vast network of nuclear activity.
We – the U.S. and Israel – are taking these actions to end this war and bring down that terror syndicate. The world and the Iranian people will be safer for it.
Lie 4: We are now going to be embroiled in a decades long conflict that will cost thousands of American lives for no legitimate reason.
President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu are not embroiling the planet in a new World War. On the contrary, their pre-emptive actions – and I hesitate to use that term because it is a bit of a misnomer when Iran has been saber-rattling and slashing for five decades – just prevented a World War.
Over the past two years, Israel systematically cut the tentacles of Iran’s global terror network one at a time. Isolated with its entire regional proxy strategy in tatters, Iran remains the chief target to dismantle. How could decapitating the head of the beast before it triggers a nuclear conflict be the source of a long, protracted war? It will be the source of precisely the opposite.
Rather than starting a war, the U.S. and Israel prevented Iran’s repeatedly promised world war. Had Europe taken such bold, decisive action against the Nazi’s flagrant aggression and expansionist ambitions in 1939, World War II and the Holocaust never would have happened.
This strike is one of those rare examples of leaders learning from history and avoiding its repetition.
The result will be a new Middle East order that promotes coexistence for all its inhabitants in the absence of the Iranian Sword of Damocles that has hung over their heads for half a century. That sword now lies molten in the rubble of Fordow alongside the ashes of the threat of another world war.
Lie 5: This is Israel’s war of aggression, and Iranians are its victim.
Stop calling this Israel’s war. This is Iran’s war. This has always been Iran’s war.
The Islamic Republic of Iran started a war in 1979, and it has never ended. It has redeclared war over and over and over again since that time. Against Israel. Against the U.S., Against the Gulf States. Against the Levant. Against women. Against the LGBTQ+ community. Against anyone different from them.
Against its own people.
October 7 was a declaration of war against all decent, peace-loving people the world over. Israel has now turned its attention to Iran after taking out its proxies who perpetrated the unfathomable atrocities of that dark day. But laying the blame for four-and-a-half decades of Iranian murders, bombings, terrorism, and oppression at the feet of one of its chief victims should make you question the motivations of anyone peddling this lie. At best, it evinces ignorance. Most likely, however, it poorly masks plain, old-fashioned antisemitism.
Look at how this latest battle in the war Iran triggered on October 7th is being waged. Iran and its proxies expressly target civilians. Israelis are living in bomb shelters as Iran lobs its missiles intentionally at innocents. In contrast, Israel has done yeoman’s labor avoiding Iranian civilians and laser targeting IRGC commanders, nuclear sites, ballistic missile supplies and launchers, and other legitimate, military targets. You are safer for it. The earth is safer for it.
Iran started this war. Iran owns responsibility for every death that occurred in the past two years of Palestinians, Israelis, Lebanese, Syrians, and, yes, Iranians.
But finally, finally, we have reached a turning point in this decades-long war. This joint action will usher in a new era, a new Middle East, and yes, a new, safer global world order. History will note this as the moment of the inception of a free and open Middle East. And it will be more than kind to the leaders who took this decisive, brilliant action. They will be remembered for having the grit, foresight, and sense to prevent one of the worst regimes in history from attaining one of the most dangerous weapons in creation.
This is a well-written, fact-driven article that analyzes the reasoning behind the US's impactful intervention to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb.
